Short Biography

Although Elvis Presley was not personally the subject of an FBI investigation, the FBI maintains records filed under his name comprising over 600 pages. These records consist of copies of letters from members of the public commenting on his performances, newspaper clippings, and documents reporting that Mr. Presley was the target of extortion attempts.

	Request No. 91287-000 Re: Presley, Elvis Dear Mr. Greenewald: The records which you have request have been previously processed under the provisions of the Freedom of information Act. The documents available for release consists of 663 pages. Enclosed are the first 100 pages of documents which are being released free of charge. Persuant to Title 28, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 16.11, there is a fee of ten cents per page for duplication. Upon receipt of your check or money order payable to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the amount of $56.30 the remaining documents will be copied and forwarded to you.
